Some people believe that once you die, that is the end. You just cease to exist or become one with the energy of the universe, or reincarnate in another life form.
The Bible is clear that there is life after death.
Jesus gave His life as the Lamb of God to take away our sins so that by believing in Him as our savior and Lord, we could have eternal life.
“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.” (John 5:24)
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”” (John 11:25-26)
“And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,” (Hebrews 9:27)
Yet, Jesus says that some people will refuse to believe Moses and the prophets. They would not believe one coming back from the dead. (See Luke 16:19-31)
Dr. Reggie Anderson has written a book about his experiences of attending people who died while he was at their bedside. He gives testimony of heaven and hell as being very real eternal places. His book “Appointments with Heaven” is worth your time to read it.
Dr. Howard Storm was an atheist and died, experiencing hell’s demonic spirit beings. He is now a believer and pastors a church in Cincinnati, Ohio. His book, “My Descent into Death” is also a good read.
Patti Colter was a hospice nurse and tells of her mother experiencing the life beyond this veil of flesh.
- Her mother dying of pancreatitis saw her guardian angel and the golden city. She was not allowed to enter as it wasn’t her time to die. She did die several years later after her recovery.
- Her brother had to have his toe amputated due to diabetes. As everyone was around his bed before surgery, he suddenly sat up and pointed to the corner of the room and said, “Look, there’s Mom standing there.” She came to meet him as he died after surgery.
So, what do you believe?
The rich man was tormented in hell, like Rev. Howard Storm. The beggar was comforted in Paradise like Patti Colter’s mother and brother.
When you die, which could be any day, will God call you a fool or a wise person? (Luke 12:20)
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” (Revelation 3:20)
