“God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.” Matthew 5:11
“Even those closest to you–your parents, brothers, relatives, and friends–will betray you. They will even kill some of you.” Luke 21:16
Voice of the Martyrs is asking for Christians to pray for Pastor Haile and other imprisoned believers around the world.
“Pastor Haile has been in prison since his arrest even though he has never had a trial, been offered legal representation or even been charged with a crime. He simply disappeared into Eritrea’s prison system.”
We need to pray that God will send forth His laborers into His harvest, while at the same time asking Him to dispatch His holy angels to protect all of His laborers, especially those missionaries and national laborers in hostile foreign countries.
Many Countries are beheading Christians while some are burning them alive, when they refuse to convert to Islam or they refuse to deny their Lord Jesus Christ. I have heard stories of missionaries just disappearing as Pastor Haile, never to be heard from again.
I faced an African Prison, with the Minister for the Southern Region of the Country telling me that he could lock me up and throw away the key, and I would never see my family nor America again. Those words put fear into your heart like no other.
God protected and delivered me out of this man’s powerful hands, by giving me exactly what to say to him. When I was done, he smiled and said that is exactly what he had planned to do and dismissed the case against me.
Jesus fulfilled Matthew 10:19-20 for me and prayer can allow Him to do it for Pastor Haile and others also.
“When you are arrested, don’t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will give you the right words at the right time. For it is not you who will be speaking–it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.”
While we enjoy our freedom, Malawi is suffering floods that have ruined their crops, while the government leaders take a big chunk of foreign aid for their own pockets, leaving very little for the common Malawian. They have sold off their maize surplus for personal profits while leaving their own countrymen to suffer hunger. The floods bring disease and suffering, along with the loss of their homes.
Kenya once a tourist destination is now filled with violence toward Christians.
Nigeria has Boko Haram kidnapping and raping young girls while killing Christians trying to turn the country into an Islamic State.
Open Doors has a map showing 50 countries that are persecuting Christians today. Take time to click, look at the map, and say a prayer for those less fortunate than ourselves.
ISIS has threatened to come to America to behead Christians. Many top government leaders believe that it will happen. If and when it does, we will be very thankful for any and all prayers that others will say for us.
Let us pray for them now while we have freedom to do so.
