God knows all
God is omniscient. He knows everything. He is perfectly acquainted with every detail in the life of every being in heaven, in earth, and in hell. Daniel said, “He knows what is in the darkness. (Daniel 2:22)
“Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.” (Hebrews 4:13)
“You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD.” (Psalm 139:2-4)
Nothing can be concealed from God. Ezekiel said, “For I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them.” (Ezekiel 11:5)
Adam and Eve were not hidden by the trees of the garden. No human saw Cain kill Abel, but God saw him. Sarah’s laugh inside a tent was heard by Jehovah. Achan stole a wedge of gold and hid it in the earth, but God brought it to light. David went to great lengths to cover up his sins, but God saw and sent a prophet to rebuke him, “Thou art the man!”
No Judge equals no sin
Men want to strip the divinity from God, because the natural mind is enmity against God. (Romans 8:7) They wish there might be no witnesses to their sins, no searcher of the hearts, and no judge to their deeds. They seek to banish God from their thoughts and “They consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness.” (Hosea 7:2) But Psalm 90:8 says, “Thou has set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.”
Sometimes, God allows circumstances to show us that we do indeed love the Lord.
Job said, “He knoweth the way that I take.” (Job 23:10) The way may be mysterious to me and to all those around me, but “He Knoweth!” Peter replied when asked by His Lord if he loved him, “Thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee.” (John 21:7)
God does according to His Will
Daniel 4:35 says, “He doeth according to His will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay His hand.” There is no future event which is only a mere possibility with God. “Known unto God are ALL His works from the beginning.” (Acts 15:18) John was shown, “things which MUST shortly come to pass.” (Revelation 1:1)
Every prophecy about Israel, and about Christ, has been and will be fulfilled to the smallest detail. He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” (Luke 24:44)
God “WILLS” His ‘Will’ to come to pass
The seasons will continue because He has willed them to continue. (Genesis 8:22) God foretold and knew of the crucifixion of His Son hundreds and thousands of years before it happened, so Christ was the Lamb of God slain from the foundation of the world. (Acts 2:23)
God’s Foreknowledge Fill us with Adoration
Proverbs 15:3 says, “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.” Hagar said, “Thou God seest me.” (Genesis 16:13) The whole of my life has stood open before His view from the beginning. He foresaw my every fall, my every sin, my every backsliding; yet He fixed His heart on me! How this knowledge should fill each of us with adoration and worship in wonder before Him!
“You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” (Psalm 139:16)
“You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!” (Psalm 139:4-6)
We must be willing to accept each and every circumstance in our lives as foreknown and as fore-allowed from our Heavenly Father; for our good and for His Glory. (Romans 8:28)
We must marvel that He still loves us and seeks us to fellowship with Him, even with His knowledge of all our past and future sins against Him; and bow our knees with our hearts in humble appreciation of all the love He has for us; giving Him the words of our praise and thanksgiving, as well as the obedience of our lives to His Word.
That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” (I Corinthians 2:9)
