Have you thought about all the various needs you have as a human? There are many that we never think about, and many that we take for granted in America.
The powerful needs for breathing, food, drink, sleep, sex, controlled body temperature, and excretion are basic needs in our daily lives. We have more than abundant access to the supply for all of these needs in our society. Only the homeless, the unemployed and the underpaid lack these; or maybe Eric Frien, who as a survivalist, is hiding from the law in Pa. If we take a look outside our borders, the availability of satisfying these basic needs diminishes rapidly, especially in war-torn countries, and those ruled by abusive dictators. It is a known fact that hungry people in these countries search for food and the basics of life, even at the peril of losing their lives. The drive for survival is that strong.
Humans also need security of body, employment, resources, family, health, property, and morals. America provides most of her populace with the opportunity to obtain these. Unfortunately, these are either not available or inadequate for quite a few. Yet, in other countries, these things are lacking to the majority of the population. Malawi has an annual average income of $800.00, which means that the majority make far less than this per year. They die young, survive on basic food, with little clothing, and live in a mud and grass thatched hut with an outhouse; while walking for miles to obtain clean drinking water and carrying home bundles of firewood, weighing up to 80 lbs., on their heads . This makes Americans appreciate just turning on the tap, the thermostat, and flushing the toilet, not to mention the array of food in the refrigerator and on the shelves, and opening the closet to wrestle with which outfit we will wear, while entertaining ourselves with all kinds of modern gadgets.
Abraham Maslow developed the Hierarchy of Needs by studying what made people happy. He taught that without the basic needs being realized in a person’s life, it was impossible to move on and upward to love, belonging, self-esteem and self-actualization. In other words, the basic needs were so powerful that if not fulfilled the individual will spend all of his or her energy and time to obtain them.
Have you taken a good look at our country lately?
Friendship has been replaced by Social Media Acquaintances, and family and sexual intimacy have been replaced by unnatural sexual and relational unions. Self-esteem, confidence, achievement, respect for others, and respect by others, have all been pegged on what others think and say about us, and on what awards and degrees and certificates we can hang on the wall. Morality, problem solving, lack of prejudice, and acceptance of facts, have all been made relative to our personal circumstances, while we medicate our inner pain with drugs and pleasures, denying that which caused the pain in the first place, which usually has something to do with our own wrong choices.
Proverbs 29:15 says, “…a child left to himself, brings his mother to shame.” Proverbs 21:2 says. “Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the heart.”
Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end; if you look for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth only soft soap and wishful thinking to begin, and in the end, despair.

Education without values, as useful as it is, seems rather to make man a more clever devil.

Americans have insisted on throwing God and His Word out of all aspects of our society. Without God and His Word, there are no absolute morals, no guilt, no shame, no judgment, and no judge to sentence us to eternal death. It sounds good, and works for the individual for a season; but for the whole of society, you can see where it has taken us.
Lawlessness and insecurity abound in the land of the free, increasing the cry for a ‘chip’ that can ensure each the basic needs of life. Sounds like the Antichrist system. His boss, Satan, is the first one who tried doing everything without God. You can see where he is going to end up.
Today is the Day of Salvation. Why not humble your heart, while you bend your knees before the only true God and ask Him to forgive you and empower you with His Holy Spirit to obey His teachings? Jesus Christ is the Truth and the Way and the Life. No man can come unto the Father but through Him. (II Corinthians 6:2, John 14:16, John 6:44, Acts 2:21,38)
Without God, you will always be in need of one or more of the basics of life. Only when you put God first, above all else, will all these basics of life be supplied abundantly, and you will be wise unto all the deceptions of the enemy. (John 10:10)
