I watched Pastor Franklin preach a dynamic message this morning about saving our families. He used the example of Rahab the harlot, who dropped a scarlet cord from her window as an example of the Blood of Christ that can save our whole household.
This is a promise that Paul and Silas gave unto the Philippian Jailer, as an angel and an earthquake delivered them from prison. Acts 16:12 says, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.“
God made Rahab, a prostitute, to become the 35th Great Grandmother of Jesus by her obedience in making sure the scarlet cord was constantly in her window; thus keeping her whole family covered by the Blood of Christ.
God uses whoever He chooses to use, regardless of their background, and regardless of their past sins and wrong choices, when they turn from their sins and obey His teachings.
God saves every member of the household when one member believes that Christ died for each, and constantly claims the Blood of Jesus to cover their sins, allowing the Holy Spirit to draw them back to His loving and merciful arms.
In our society of broken families, and unsaved loved ones, Franklin gives us new hope and direction on putting into practice what Rahab did each day and evening: making sure the scarlet cord is in the windows of your homes each morning and each night, and that it is covering your children and loved ones in prayer and fasting through the Blood of Christ.
