There is no time or space with God, as He is everywhere present at the same time. Paul said that in Him we live and move and have our being. The same God that I experienced in the States was the same God I experienced in Africa, the same God I experienced 35,000 feet above the earth, was the same God I experienced in the depths of a South African gold mine. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. A thousand years is as one day with God, and one day as a thousand years. All those who have had ‘Near Death Experiences’ speak about their feelings of timelessness.
Time and space are earth terms. God is outside of time and space. You and I are made up of body, soul and spirit. Because of our bodies, we are stuck in time and space till these bodies die. Our souls are attached to our spirits. When the body dies, then our souls are free to travel beyond time and space. The soul-spirits will inhabit God’s Kingdom or Satan’s Kingdom.
Jesus demonstrated how a personality could be part of time and space and still be part of timelessness. He told Thomas the doubter that He and His Father were one. If you saw Jesus, you saw the Father. God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself. Jesus is the image of the invisible God. The fullness of the Godhead dwelt in Him bodily. The Father is a Spirit without flesh and blood. In order to worship God you have to use your spirit to connect to His Spirit. Because there are evil spirits in the universe between you and God, you have to follow the correct protocol for coming before a King of the universe. Jesus says that our worship must be in spirit and in truth, not just spirit. When we connect to the Spirit of God with our human spirit according to the teachings of His Word, then we enter into the spirit realm where angels dwell, and avoid the area where the demons dwell. Because demons dwell here, we have to make sure that we are following the rule book to protect us from danger and harm. Jesus taught us to pray this way with the Lord’s prayer. (Lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil)
When I lay out on the ground on a warm summer night, staring up into the a clear sky full of twinkling stars, I ‘feel’. I feel small compared to the vastness of it all. I feel wonder at the beauty and precise order of it all. I feel awe and respect for the God who has the wisdom and power to display such glory. I feel a longing deep inside me that yearns to see as God sees and to understand as He understands. My spirit-soul cries out to be one with this Creator. Time stands still and I tune out all other distractions, forgetting the hour until my body begins to weary, telling me that I need to move my aching muscles. Our spirit does connect to the Spirit of God trillions and trillions and trillions of miles through the universe. All we have to do is ask Him to come into our hearts, for He is not far from any one of us, if we ‘feel’ after Him. David expressed the same thing in Psalm 33:1-22. Take time to read it, especially some warm summer night, and then allow your spirit to open your heart’s desire to connect to the only true God and Savior Jesus Christ.
When we look at the stars, we need to realize that God’s throne is beyond them. We can’t see into His throne room with these earthly eyes, but He looks down and sees us. David says this in Psalm 33:13-14. “The Lord looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men; From His dwelling place He looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth.” He sees us all without any coverings over our soul, we are naked before Him. He knows our rising up, and our laying down, our going in and our going out. It is His breath that wakes us up in the mornings.
Hebrews says we are surrounded with a great cloud of witnesses. These witnesses are the good and evil angels who inhabit the heavenlies. They are watching to see whether we will choose to serve God or the devil. We are on a stage, called earth. The audience is full of good and evil beings fighting for the control of the nations of the earth and for the minds of men. This is why we feel so small when we focus our attention on the stars trillions of miles above us. The final act is playing out right before our eyes and it is determining who will rule the world. Of course, we know the end, for we have read the book, and the book says it is Jesus Christ. He is the one who will ride in on His white horse, with the Word of God as the sword in His mouth, casting out all those that choose the devil’s kingdom. Our priority is to choose the right side and to watch for His appearance, before the curtain falls.
God has sent many prophets down through the ages, warning people of the need to choose light over darkness. He sent His Son over 2000 years ago to pay the full ransom price for our freedom to choose to live in Paradise again. Adam chose wrongly, became a slave to the desires of the carnal fleshly mind. Ever since, man has pursued these carnal desires, trying to increase his knowledge of the heavens independently outside of God and His Word. The world is in a mess. The following are a few statistics showing the mess we have made of this world.
There are over 7.063 Billion people inhabiting the earth today. There are 195 or 196 countries in the world today, depending on whether you include Taiwan, the Vatican and Kosovo or not, as these three remain independent outside of the United Nations. 60 countries are fighting some kind of war. There are 381 different militia-guerrilla conflicts being fought.
There have been at least 34 famines since 1945. There are around 50 million people living with AIDS today, with 4 million deaths per year, and 6 million new cases being diagnosed each year. In the USA, there are close to 2 million new Cancer cases each year, with over 1600 dying each day. 600,000 people die from heart disease each year, with another 150,000 from strokes. There are 90,000 deaths from Alzheimer’s, another 70,000 from Diabetes, and another 60,000 from influenza and pneumonia, another 40,000 from suicide, and another 150,000 from accidents. There are around 50 people being murdered each day in the States. There are over 1.3 million abortions each year in the States. These statistics do not take in natural disasters around the world.
Self-willed knowledge hasn’t solved the problem of evil in this world, it has only increased it. Humanism and New Age Enlightenment have not ushered in the Age of Aquarius, of world peace and harmony. Only the Prince of Peace can rid the world of the devil and his demons. The worship of self has caused the evil and suffering of this world. I know God and His people get the blame for the bad, but remember it was Lucifer who chose to become Satan. Satan chose to serve self and has used men in and out of church to bring about his plan of world domination. Each man has to choose just like Satan did, just like Adam did. Will we exalt our selfish ego to serve our own carnal means, or allow our souls to serve a God of love and mercy, freeing our spirits to join His Spirit forever without bondage or pain?
We were created to live without time and without space, and if we make the right choice, we will escape the confines of this earthly body, ascending up way beyond the Milky Way and all the other galaxies to the very throne room of God. If we make the wrong choice, then we will stay confined to time and space till death, only to be confined to eternal darkness, never to see the beauty of freedom and light again.
When I was in Africa, I felt a continual heaviness in my spirit wherever I went. The nation is steeped in ancestor worship and the appeasing of their spirits through Witch Doctors. There was no place in the five nations where I felt free from this heaviness of spirit, which was almost like being dirty in need of a bath. Africans confess the darkness by using amulets, charms, and curses or blessings from their Witch Doctors. They invite a spirit of heaviness by inviting the demons into their daily lives. I have dealt with enough demonic oppressing and possessing spirits to know that dark spirits start out as friendly and then turn evil and mean. They are against anything that is good, and they hate the Name of Jesus Christ and His shed Blood. You will remember that they met Jesus and cried out to Him before He had said anything to them. He defeated them and they know it better than we do.
When I pray in the Holy Spirit and confess my need of salvation and divine help, I feel the love and mercy of my God. It is a feeling of being free, light and clean. His Blood washes away our sins to never to be remembered against us. His Word washes and cleanses our conscience, ridding us of guilt and shame. There is no condemnation with Jesus. His Holy Spirit frees our earthly spirits to ascend directly to the throne room of God, where He is sitting as our High Priest making intercession for us. Hebrews 7:25 says, “Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.” NIV
It is a ‘spiritual high’ that is likened to being drunk with alcohol. (former drug addicts have likened it to being high on Crack) On the Day of Pentecost, Peter told the people that the 120 were not drunk as they supposed, but what they were seeing and hearing was that which the prophet Joel foretold. It was the outpouring of the Spirit of God into our hearts causing us to become beside ourselves in praise and worship to the One who forgives our sins, transforming the soul, mind and spirit of man from darkness into God’s Holy Light. God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. The 120 of the upper room included Mary, the Mother of Jesus. They all had entered into a place without time and space, praying in the Holy Ghost. It is interesting to note that Barbara Bradley Hagerty writes about the experiences of people praying in the Holy Spirit, in her book Fingerprints of God. Check it out of the library sometime for an interesting read on prayer changing the mind of man.
Jesus heard Thomas tell the other disciples that he had to see the nail prints in the hands and side before he could believe that Jesus had arisen from the grave. Eight days later, Jesus knew Thomas would be there and reappeared to the disciples. Jesus didn’t knock on the door, He just floated in through the wall, and as the astonished disciples stared, he used Thomas’s very words as He stretched out His hands and uncovered His side for him to examine. Thomas fell down before Christ acknowledging Him as his Lord and his God. Jesus violated time and space to appear to Thomas personally. He will do the same for you. He knows right where you are every moment of every day and He knows exactly what you say and think. He knows about the unspoken pain inside the deepest recesses of your soul and what and who caused the traumas. Time and space has no barriers for the Sword of His Spirit while He skillfully uses it as a surgeon’s scalpel to make the laser-precision incision to heal your inner man.
Father, I ask you to send your healing today to the hurting souls of your people. You are the great physician, knowing exactly how to heal without causing anymore suffering. You see into the inner secret rooms of our souls. You understand the suffering and the torment that has been inflicted by the enemy. You see the anger, the loneliness and the withdrawal from you. You see the mindsets that each person has developed to protect the pain from doing more harm. You see the image that each is presenting to others, and how each knows who he/she really is before you. You see the disparity between the two images. I ask that you send your Word of healing into them today. Allow their soul to be free to be able to transcend beyond time and space where your Holy Spirit dwells. Allow them to experience personally your love and mercy as they confess their needs before you with their mouths. Allow them to make the connection, joining your light and being free from their darkness. Break the chains of bondage that holds them back from giving their worship to you as their creator. Allow them to enjoy the beauty of your creation without an empty void inside, that leaves them alienated from your fellowship. You created them to dwell with you where space and time has no meaning. In Jesus Name, set them free. Amen.
